The $VIX closed up +1.33 in a relatively flat market, obviously anticipating renewed volatility when Big Ben speaks both tomorrow (via the F.O.M.C. statement) and Weds. (annual Jackson Hole, WY speech) where many pundits are "expecting" him to announce QE3, even tho the Board of Governors in the last F.O.M.C. meeting's minutes indicated that the Fed's liquidity injections were having a diminishing effect on the economy and (un)employment.
ReplyDeleteIt should be noted that the 3 "majors", the DJII, SPX & OEX all poked above their upper B.B. lines today for the 2nd day in a row, reversed and closed either at or below those important demarcations. The laggard, but telling, NYSE Comp. & Trannies never even got close.
